About Us

OUR Purpose

The Mid-Atlantic Boarding School Group consists of Blair Academy (NJ), Mercersburg Academy (PA), St. Andrew’s School (DE), Episcopal High School (VA), and The Peddie School (NJ). Collectively, we are a group of five selective boarding schools that reside in the mid-Atlantic region of the U.S. We are an option for students and their families who are considering an independent, residential learning environment for grades 9-12. Our five schools acknowledge that families benefit most if they consider a variety of schools when investigating their options. The commonalities and collaboration that exists between our schools is almost impossible to ignore. There are important similarities and yet distinguishing differences among the educational philosophies, academic curriculums, extracurricular offerings, and residential programming that exist at our schools. We invite you to thoughtfully partake in the independent school admission process that will lead to meaningful self-discovery.

Collective Facts

$45.8 Million = Total Financial Aid offered annually

$52,428 = Average Financial Aid Award per boarding student

$1.122 Billion = Total combined endowments

56 = Total countries represented

44 = Total states represented (+DC and Puerto Rico)

I am so thankful that the Mid-Atlantic Boarding School Group visited our school. Our students, faculty, and parents loved hearing from five schools who work so closely together and believe so genuinely in the power of a boarding school education. The team of admissions officers never came across as sales reps pushing the product that is their school, instead these admission counselors carried themselves as passionate educators who have dedicated themselves to offering a powerful education to as many families as they can reach.
— Wilson Everheart, Former Head of Upper School, The Country School (MD)
More schools should establish collaborations like MABS. The success of MABS is a reflection of its dedicated members, who are honest, transparent, and humble. These values are integral to their work and clearly evident in everything they do. Their genuine commitment to SEEDS families considering their schools helps to ensure that students find the best possible home for their high school years.
— Andy Hoge, Vice President, Admissions & Placement, SEEDS - Access Changes Everything
It is always a delight to participate in the annual MABS School Tour and this visit was no exception! Informative and thorough, the four days are also a wonderful time to connect with fellow placement professionals. Your admissions teams are clearly experts with a true sense of purpose to make sure families feel welcomed and each child finds their best next step for boarding school.
— Lisa Schmitt, Director of Secondary School Advising, Indian Mountain School
